Sins of Our Mothers: Skeletons in Our Closets

A Chat with the Author

Host Marnye Young talks to the author of Sins of Our Mothers: Skeletons in Our Closets, discussing the true story of how Shana Dines survived a childhood of mental, emotional, and sexual abuse at the hands of her mother.

From the author: People have a hard time believing that women - especially mothers who are supposed to protect their children - can be molesters and pedophiles, but Shana Dines's mother was one. She shares not only the story of her own recovery, exposing the sins of the mothers in her family, but also helps other victims see that they are not alone. They can recover and have healthy, reasonably happy lives and help others in their journeys to wholeness.

About the author: Shana Dines is an Indiana native. She lives with her husband Michael and is the mother of five adult children. She is a grandmother, great-grandmother, and the mother-rescuer of a Boston Terrier named Abby (who has stolen her mom and dad's hearts). She illustrated Mimi's Tales written by Suzie Raffensperger. She started writing online for many online writing sites, which inspired her to write American Ghost Stories, published in 2013.
